AENaON project
On Tuesday, 3 June 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming two distinguished scientists to our offices: Dr. Eleni Maloupa, former Director of Research at the Hellenic Agricultural Organization ‘Demeter’, and Dr. Andreas Oikonomou, former Professor at the Pedagogical Department of the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education.
The meeting took place in the context of the AENaON project, which has just begun and in which our Foundation is participating. The project focuses on highlighting the nutritional value of wild edible plants and native fruit-bearing trees in Cyprus, Crete, and the South Aegean. It is being implemented under the Interreg Greece–Cyprus Programme 2021–2027.
During the meeting, we discussed how the partners will collaborate and how this valuable knowledge will be integrated into the educational and awareness-raising activities undertaken by the Laona Foundation.
