Established in 1992
Laona Foundation is a private non-profit-making organisation registered under Cyprus Law, established on the early 1990’s to implement the Laona Project, a US$1m. rural regeneration and ecotourism project, in western Paphos (Cyprus), which was completed in 1994.
Action in Cyprus and abroad
Since 1992 the Laona Foundation has carried out its activities, offering guidance and support to the people of Laona. Concurrently, at the request of other communities outside Laona, it has broadened the scope of its activities to cover all areas of Cyprus and even overseas.
Cooperation with other NGOs
The Foundation cooperates with other NGOs from Cyprus and abroad. Since 2003, the Laona Foundation has taken an increasing interest in issues of landscape and participates as an observer in the meetings of the Landscape Convention, Council of Europe. It is also a member of Civilscape and ITLA .
