Laona Foundation, in collaboration with Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), took part in Researchers’ Night to present the AENAON project. Our aim was to highlight the importance of wild edible plants as valuable components of Cyprus’s biodiversity and food culture.
Visitors received the Little Explorer’s Booklet, encouraging them to explore nature and discover the wild edible plants of Cyprus.
They also took part in a quiz about the plant species featured in the project.
Everyone had the opportunity to take home seeds of purslane or strouthouthkia (a local wild edible plant). In addition, a prize draw gave away small pots of purslane, strouthouthkia, bitter oyster plant and goat’s beard.
A big thank you to everyone who visited us and shared our love for Cyprus’s wild plants!
