Laona Foundation took part in the Festival of Tradition and Culture organised by the Women’s Association of Rural Larnaca, presenting the AENAON project and highlighting wild edible plants as valuable components of Cyprus’s biodiversity and food culture.
Visitors received the Little Explorer’s Booklet, encouraging them to explore nature and discover the wild edible plants of Cyprus.
They also took part in a quiz about the plant species featured in the project.
Every visitor received seeds of purslane or strouthouthkia (a local wild edible plant). In addition, a prize draw gave away small pots of purslane, strouthouthkia, bitter oyster plant and goat’s beard.
A big thank you to everyone who visited us and shared our interest in Cyprus’s wild edible plants!
