The first community activity under the project in the north, organised by CEI was the replanting of land in Çatalköy/Ayios Epiktitos that had previously been affected by a forest fire. About 100 saplings were planted on Saturday 10th December 2022 with the help and support of the Catalköy Development and Culture Organisation (ÇADER), the local forestry authority and private sponsors.
During the project 2 more tree planting workshops were held.
A second planting took place at the same location in Çatalköy/Ayios Epiktitos on the 21st of January 2024 with about new 90 saplings planted.
The Laona Foundation organized a tree planting in Agioi Vavatsinias on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in collaboration with the Community Council of Agioi Vavatsinias, the Expatriates and Friends Association, the Ecclesiastical Committee and the Youth Association of the community, as well as the Phoenix Association. 229 trees and shrubs were planted around the football pitch and along the routes to the Chappel of Ayios Paisios by a group of 34 volunteers.
