Empowering Rural Women for Sustainable Development

On February 27, 2026, the first seminar titled “The Green Transition in Our Daily Lives” was successfully held in Agios Theodoros, Larnaca, with the participation of 50 women from rural communities. The event marked the official launch of the project “Women for the Green Transition,” funded by the ENA Foundation.

The strong participation of the women confirmed that they already possess valuable knowledge, experience, and motivation, while seeking the appropriate tools to actively play a leading role in the green transition of their local communities.

The keynote speaker was Mr. Pantelis Sofokleous, Civil Engineer and Environmental Engineer, who kept the audience highly engaged by presenting practical ideas and applicable solutions for a more sustainable everyday life. The discussion that followed was meaningful and constructive, highlighting the participants’ willingness for cooperation, action, and collective effort.

The seminar was implemented within the framework of the project “Women for the Green Transition,” which is part of the Grants for Change 2025 programme. The project is implemented by the Laona Foundation, in partnership with the Women’s Association of Rural Larnaka. The Grants for Change programme is an initiative of the ENA Foundation, aiming to empower local communities by supporting sustainable and socially innovative actions
