Σύσκεψη στρογγυλής τράπεζας «Το Πολιτιστικό Τοπίο ως ισχυρός παράγοντας στην ανάπτυξη αειφορικού τουρισμού και κυκλικής οικονομίας»
Το Ευρωπαϊκό έργο Beyond Cultural Tourism (Be.Cultour, πρόγραμμα Horizon 2020), με 15 εταίρους από 10 χώρες, περιλαμβανομένης της Κύπρου, φθάνει στο τέλος του. Στο έργο συμμετέχουν η ΑΝΕΤΕΛ (Αναπτυξιακή Εταιρεία Επαρχιών Λάρνακας Αμμοχώστου) και το Ίδρυμα Λαόνα για την Αναβίωση και Προστασία της Κυπριακής Υπαίθρου. Στόχος του έργου ήταν μέσω της έννοιας της κυκλικής οικονομίας και της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς να δώσει ώθηση αειφορικής και προσεγμένης ανάπτυξης σε ‘ξεχασμένες’ κοινότητες με ‘κρυφούς θησαυρούς’.
Ως τελευταία δράση στην Κύπρο, η ΑΝΕΤΕΛ και το Ίδρυμα Λαόνα οργάνωσαν πρόσφατα ημερίδα με θέμα το ‘’Πολιτιστικό Τοπίο ως ισχυρός παράγοντας στην ανάπτυξη αειφορικού τουρισμού και κυκλικής οικονομίας’’. Η ημερίδα τελούσε υπό την αιγίδα της Υφυπουργού Πολιτισμού, Δρος Βασιλικής Κασσιανίδου, η οποία έλαβε μέρος στις εργασίες.
Της σύσκεψης προηγήθηκε περιοδεία στο πυρόπληκτο τοπίο της Ορεινής Λάρνακας και περιδιάβαση με ξενάγηση στους Αγίους Βαβατσινιάς.
Στη σύσκεψη συμμετείχαν επιλεγμένοι εκπρόσωποι κυπριακών και ευρωπαϊκών οργανισμών, όπως ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), Εθνικό Συμβούλιο Έρευνας (CNR) της Ιταλίας, ICOMOS – International Council on Monuments and Sites, Raymond Lemaire International Conservation Centre, Βέλγιο, Υφυπουργείο Τουρισμού, Τμήμα Πολεοδομίας και Οικήσεως, Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων, Κυπριακή Εθνική Επιτροπή UNESCO, Επιστημονικό Τεχνικό Επιμελητήριο Κύπρου (ΕΤΕΚ), Εμπορικό και Βιομηχανικό Επιμελητήριο Λάρνακας, Εταιρεία Τουριστικής Ανάπτυξης και Προβολής (ΕΤΑΠ) Λάρνακας, Σύνδεσμος Κυπρίων Αρχαιολόγων (ΣΚΑ), Σύλλογος Αρχιτεκτόνων Κύπρου (ΣΑΚ), Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI), Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ), Πανεπιστήμιο UCLan, Σωματείο Φοίνικας, Δημοτικό Αρχείο Λάρνακας – Φοίβος Σταυρίδης, Ίδρυμα Πολιτιστικής Δημιουργίας για Παιδιά και Νέους Επαρχίας Λάρνακας, Οργανισμός Πολιτιστικής Πρωτεύουσας της Ευρώπης – Λάρνακα 2030, Σύλλογος Γυναικών Υπαίθρου Λάρνακας, καθώς και ο Πρόεδρος του Κοινοτικού Συμβουλίου Βάβλας.
Κατά τη σύσκεψη, μίλησε η συντονίστρια του έργου Antonia Gravagnuolo, καθώς και η Christina Garzillo εκ μέρους του ICLEI, οι καθηγητές Luigi Fusco Girardo (Πανεπιστήμιο Νεάπολης) και Christian Ost (ICHEC Σχολή Διοίκησης Βρυξελλών), η Άρτεμις Γιορδαμλή και η Ευδοκία Μπαλαμού, εκ μέρους του Ιδρύματος Λαόνα και ΑΝΕΤΕΛ αντίστοιχα και η αρχιτέκτονας, ειδική στο πολιτιστικό τοπίο, Σεβίνα Φλωρίδου, η οποία παρουσίασε χαρτογράφηση του πολιτιστικού τοπίου Αγίων Βαβατσινιάς. Μελετήθηκε επίσης, το κείμενο διακήρυξης (manifesto), για τη σημασία του πολιτιστικού τοπίου, που μπορεί να λειτουργήσει ως οδηγός τόσο για την Κύπρο όσο και για τις άλλες χώρες μέλη που συμμετέχουν στο έργο Be.Cultour. Αναπτύχθηκε εποικοδομητική συζήτηση για το περιεχόμενο της διακήρυξης που θα δημοσιοποιηθεί στην τελική σύσκεψη του Be.Cultour στη Νάπολη της Ιταλίας τον Ιούνιο.

Round table conference “Cultural Landscape as a powerful factor in the development of sustainable tourism and the circular economy“
The European project Beyond Cultural Tourism (Be.Cultour, Horizon 2020), with 15 partners from 10 countries, including ANETEL (Larnaca and Famagusta Districts Development Agency) and Laona Foundation for the Conservation and Regenaration of the Cypriot Countryside, is coming to an end. The aim of the project was, through the concept of circular economy and cultural heritage, to give impetus to sustainable and careful development in ‘forgotten’ communities with ‘hidden treasures’.
As the final action in Cyprus, ANETEL and Laona Foundation recently organised a conference on the topic of “Cultural Landscape as a powerful factor in the development of sustainable tourism and the circular economy”. The conference was held under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, who took part in the proceedings
The meeting was preceded by a tour of the fire-affected landscape of rural Larnaca and a guided tour of Ayii Vavatsinias, one of the project communities.
The meeting was attended by selected representatives of Cypriot and European organisations, including ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites), Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC) of Belgium, the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Town Planning and Housing, the Department of Antiquities, the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO, the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK), the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), the Association of Cypriot Archaeologists (ACA), the Cyprus Architects Association (SAK), Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI), Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), UCLan University, Phoenix Association, Larnaca Municipal Archive – Phivos Stavrideis, Larnaca Cultural Foundation for Children and Youth, the Organisation for the European Capital of Culture – Larnaka 2030 and the Women’s Association of Rural Larnaca, as well as the President of the Vavla Community Council.
During the meeting presentations were made by the Be.Cultour project coordinator, Antonia Gravagnuolo, also by Christina Garzillo on behalf of ICLEI, Professors Luigi Fusco Girardo (University of Naples) and Christian Ost (ICHEC Brussels Management School), by Artemis Yiordamli and Evdokia Balamou on behalf of of the Laona Foundation and ANETEL respectively. Architect Sevina Floridou, specializing in cultural landscapes, presented original research contacting in mapping Ayii Vavatsinias.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed the text of the Larnaca Manifesto on the importance of the cultural landscape, which can act as a guide for both Cyprus and other member countries participating in the Be.Cultour project, was reviewed. The conference concluded with a constructive discussion on the content of the Manifesto, which will be released at the forthcoming Be.Cultour closing ceremony in Naples, Italy in June.
